Wedge
The narrow initial use-case that opens the door to a broader product later.
A wedge is the sharp, specific problem your product solves first. Notion's wedge was collaborative wiki; Superhuman's wedge was a fast email client; Figma's wedge was browser-based design collaboration. The wedge is deliberately narrow because narrow problems are easier to sell to, easier to build for, and easier to explain. Indie founders who skip the wedge and pitch "the all-in-one platform for X" usually fail because there's no clear first user and no clear first purchase.
